From Ulcinj to Kragujevac, my journey began early in the morning as I boarded the train at the quaint little station in Montenegro. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a golden hue over the rugged mountains that surrounded the town. As the train slowly chugged along, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement for the adventure that lay ahead.
The landscapes that passed by my window were a mesmerizing mix of lush greenery, rolling hills, and charming villages. I watched as farmers worked in their fields, children played by the roadside, and old men sat outside their homes, soaking in the morning sun. Each scene was like a snapshot of daily life in this part of the world, and I felt grateful to be able to witness it.
During the journey, I struck up a conversation with an elderly couple who were on their way to visit their grandchildren in Belgrade. They shared stories of their lives, their love for their homeland, and their hopes for the future. It was a simple yet profound interaction that reminded me of the beauty of human connection, even in the midst of a long train ride.
Leaving Ulcinj was bittersweet for me. I had fallen in love with the charming seaside town, with its cobblestone streets, bustling markets, and welcoming locals. But I knew that new adventures awaited me in Kragujevac, and I was eager to explore another corner of this diverse and captivating region.
And finally, I arrived in Kragujevac, a city steeped in history and culture. I was immediately struck by the grand architecture, the bustling streets, and the friendly faces that greeted me. I couldn’t wait to dive into all that this city had to offer, from its museums and galleries to its vibrant nightlife and delicious cuisine.
I chose Kragujevac as my next destination because of its rich history and its central location in Serbia. I was drawn to its significance as the site of the first Serbian uprising against the Ottoman Empire, and I was intrigued by its reputation as a hub of education and industry in the country. I knew that there was so much to discover and learn in this dynamic city, and I was excited to immerse myself in its unique culture and heritage.
As I stepped off the train and onto the platform, I felt a rush of anticipation and excitement for the adventures that awaited me in Kragujevac. With a smile on my face and a spring in my step, I set off to explore this new city and all that it had to offer.
Tomorrow I’ll explore my new accommodation and get my first proper taste of Kragujevac. Stay tuned!
